THE BIG GIVE is the year’s biggest fundraiser for non-profits in south central TX. We run a 501(c)3 cat rescue called PAWS & PURRS RESCUE based in San Antonio, TX! We intake all types of cats from neonatal kittens to senior cats and give them the veterinary care they need to find them homes. We also have a heavy focus on TNR (trap/neuter/return) — where we go out and help people and businesses in our community spay/neuter and vaccinate feral, community cats.
Lil Floof just had a mastectomy for a malignant mammary tumor and is expected to need regular radiographs to ensure we catch it early if it comes back. We also want to hopefully cover our expenses for food, litter, spay/neuter, & medications. Our yearly costs for these expenses, not even including specialized surgeries, is over $10,000.

WHAT WE DO
San Antonio, TX has one of the highest euthanasia rates in the country, while Texas as a whole carries the number one spot of highest euthanasia rate altogether. Our aim, like so many other wonderful rescues here, is to advocate for cats, educate the public, and save as many cats and kittens as we’re able.
FOSTER & SOCIALIZE
We take in cats & kittens from all backgrounds and ages — from neonates to hospice situations — to show them love & compassion. We cover any and all expenses to ensure they can live healthy and happy lives.
TRAP NEUTER RETURN
Cats that cannot be socialized or fostered will be TNR’d or TRAP-NEUTER-RETURNED to where they were originally found! They will be vaccinated and sterilized to ensure no more kittens can be born to suffer outdoors or euthanized in shelters lacking space.
ADOPTIONS
We spend all the time needed to make sure each and every foster finds their perfect forever home. Whether it comes to people interested in adopting or fostering, we make sure to offer all the guidance needed!
